Nach der baulichen Sanierung und Erweiterung des sog.
Museum für Frühindustrialisierung soll nun die
Dauerausstellung wieder ins Gebäude zurückkehren. Die
Ausstellung zeigt als industrie und
sozialgeschichtliches Museum die frühe Entwicklung der
Industrie im Wuppertal mit ihren technik-, sozial-,
wirtschafts- und mentalitätsgeschichtlichen Facetten.
1983 gegründet, war es eines der ersten
sozialhistorischen Museen, das sich mit der Geschichte
der Industrialisierung auseinandersetzte. Das Wuppertal
wird als frühe Pionierregion der Industrialisierung auf
dem europäischen Kontinent gezeigt.
